2021 Black Farming Conference

The second annual Black farming conference (Black Farming: Community Land and Food Sovereignty) was held at Central State University Sept. 10-11, with support from Ohio Farm Bureau and Nationwide. This year’s conference focused on looking at the economic impacts and the power of the cooperative business model with an emphasis on the power of growing your own food — from seed saving to community gardening — and celebrating the contributions of the Black and underrepresented food and farming community. Nationwide hosted one of the event’s breakout sessions focusing on the needs of beginning farmers.
