Pickaway County Farm Bureau

Pickaway County Farm Bureau volunteers and staff worked tirelessly throughout another challenging membership campaign in 2023 and helped the organization receive the Milestone Award for achieving membership gain.

“No matter how good your organization is and how easy it may be to see the full value of joining it, membership campaigns are a big lift, and our counties are up for the challenge year in and year out,” said Paul Lyons, Ohio Farm Bureau vice president of membership. “I can’t thank our volunteers enough for their dedication to telling their story and inviting others to join them as a member of Farm Bureau.”

At the conclusion of the campaign, Pickaway County earned the Milestone Award, to commemorate achieving member gain year over year.

Farm Bureau is open to all who support the organization’s mission, whether you work professionally in the agriculture industry or simply appreciate and understand the value of agriculture in our community. Benefits include access to Farm Bureau business solutions, having a voice in Farm Bureau’s advocacy efforts, discounts on some Nationwide products, as well as products and services essential to the farm and food community.

The membership campaign for 2024 is already underway. To find out more about becoming a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau or to volunteer to help the grassroots organization continue to grow, visit ohiofarmbureau.org/membership.

Ohio Farm Bureau’s mission is working together for Ohio farmers to advance agriculture and strengthen our communities.

The plan we are on is great. It’s comparable to my previous job's plan, and we are a sole proprietor.

Farm Bureau connections
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.

Farm Bureau involvement
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
