Fifth grade field day is an annual educational event presented by Monroe SWCD and several other local agencies.
Monroe County Farm Bureau board trustees and volunteers presented “My Pizza Comes from a Farm” to over 160 fifth graders in Monroe County.
The students were able to see all the ingredients that are needed to make a pizza, such as wheat, milk, peppers, cheese, sauce, and ingredients to make the dough. At the end of the demonstration, each student was given a piece of pizza to enjoy along with a goodie bag with various items.
Other educational topics included electricity, honey bees, pollination, recycling, deer and turkey calls, and furs and pelts.
To grow a network and gain perspective and knowledge in the industry through personal and professional development has been invaluable. Every day I learn and grow.
