Livestock clinic

Local cattle producers gathered at United Producers in Hillsboro for a Beef Producer BQA Certification and Calving Clinic Feb. 18, 2025. Producers had the opportunity to earn their Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certification, a national program designed to ensure best management practices in cattle care, handling and welfare. The clinic featured a live calving demonstration by Dr. Caleb Bohrer and Dr. Wyatt Krom of Bohrer Vet Services.

Hosted by United Producers, Inc., Highland County Farm Bureau, OSU Extension Highland County, Ohio Cattleman’s Association, Highland Feed and Supply and Bohrer Vet, this meeting and each monthly meeting prior have been organized by Tim Sheeley, a Highland County Farm Bureau board trustee. We appreciate his continued efforts to bring education and knowledge to our local farming community!

Events like this reflect the Ohio Farm Bureau’s commitment to providing value-added opportunities for members. By supporting events that enhance livestock care, Farm Bureau helps strengthen Ohio agriculture for future generations.

To grow a network and gain perspective and knowledge in the industry through personal and professional development has been invaluable. Every day I learn and grow.

Farm Bureau connections
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Bringing the farm back to life
Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.

Farm Bureau involvement
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

Select Partner Program
So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
