July 27, guests attended the Crawford County Carcass Show held at Link’s Country Meats in Crestline. Dr. Lyda Garcia, from Ohio State, placed 26 beef, pork, lamb and goat carcasses. These animals were exhibited at the county fair the previous week and included the Grand and Reserve Champions of each species. Winners received cash prizes from Crawford County Farm Bureau, Crawford County Cattlemen’s Association and Link’s Country Meats.

Garcia explained to the guests how the carcasses were evaluated and emphasized the importance of marbling in beef and the percentage of saleable product in all species.
Link’s Country Meats, Crawford County Farm Bureau and Crawford County Cattlemen’s Association partnered on the event to make it possible for the youth of Crawford County.

Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.
