Garlic Rubbed Bread

It couldn’t be any simpler to deliver a bigger blast of garlic goodness. One clean cut releases a lot of flavor with minimal effort. Adapt this technique for rubbing steaks before they hit the grill.

Ingredients

  • 4 one-inch thick slices of crusty bread
  • Extra virgin olive oil for brushing
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic split in half

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Brush one side of each bread slice with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toast in the oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and rub each toasted surface with the cut side of the split garlic clove. Serve immediately.
