Safely dispose of chemical containers and agricultural tires for free on Sat., Aug. 1 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Morrow County Fairgrounds, 195 S. Main Street, Mount Gilead. Registration is not required.

Ag Chemical Container Recycling

Farmers, commercial applicators, and anyone working under the direct supervision of a licensed applicator are eligible.

Containers must have previously held EPA-registered pesticides or crop protection products labeled for agriculture, animal health, forestry, specialty pest control, or non-registered products such as adjuvants, fertilizers, crop oil, and micronutrients.

To be accepted, containers must meet all of the following requirements:

• Rigid high-density polyethylene (HDPE), up to 55 gallons (resin code #2 or #7).
• Triple-rinsed (or pressure-rinsed if product label allows) immediately after emptying.
• Completely empty and dry, with no dried residue inside or outside.
• Cap removed and discarded. Label booklets removed (base label may remain).
• No consumer, home, or garden pesticide containers.

This portion of the event is part of the Ag Container Recycling Council (ACRC) program, a national nonprofit that has recycled over 236 million pounds of agricultural plastic containers since 1992.

Ag Tire Recycling

• Agricultural tires only. No size limit.
• No track tires.
• No rims or ballast: Tires must be completely off the rim and free of ballast, mud, water or heavy debris.
• Tire limit: Free drop-off up to 10 tires, No tire dealers allowed.
• If you need to bring more than 10 tires, contact the Ohio EPA at [email protected] to obtain a transportation exemption.
