Crawford, Marion, Morrow and Richland County Farm Bureaus will host a livestock transportation emergency response training July 11 at the Bucyrus Church of the Nazarene Fellowship Room from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
The session will provide training on livestock transportation emergency responses with hands-on demonstrations including trailers and livestock equipment. No livestock will be present. A light breakfast will be provided. Reservations are due July 1 via the online form or call Farm Bureau at 419-747-7488.
Managing accidents involving livestock transport vehicles is uniquely complex, which is why we are developing an emergency response training. Our objective is to equip local law enforcement, first responders and emergency management agencies with the standardized methods and protocols they need to handle these high-stress situations safely, humanely and efficiently. By bridging the gap between public safety officials and agricultural experts, this framework will improve scene stabilization, animal welfare, and overall responder safety during critical roadside incidents. This event is in collaboration with Hord Family Farms and OSU Extension – Marion County.
Members enrolled with the Farm Bureau workers’ compensation group with Sedgwick may use this seminar to fulfill their annual safety requirement for the July 2026 – June 2027 OBWC year. If you have any questions, please contact the Farm Bureau office at 419- 747-7488.
