Ohioans have to endure one of the toughest situations in the country when the government takes their land but refuses to acknowledge it. Protecting landowners from punitive state eminent domain laws is the goal of an Ohio Farm Bureau legal brief submitted to the Supreme Court of the United States. Supreme Court precedent currently prohibits Ohioans from appealing to federal court to address government property takings. Ohio Farm Bureau’s brief seeks to overturn precedent and gain landowners the option to appeal directly to a federal court.
