Farm Bureau realizes that it’s been a rough couple of years between overreaching regulations, severe weather during planting/harvesting season, unsteady markets, and pandemic pressures. We also recognize that the most important asset of your operation, business and home is you. It’s critical to take care of yourself in order to continuing growing all of those things and we want to be here to help. This is why we are so excited to announce your Farm Bureau has recently partnered with BetterHelp – the world’s largest therapy provider – in extending an additional layer of support to our members and their loved ones by providing access to professional counseling anytime and anywhere.

From the comfort of your home to the busy days in the tractor seat, we are providing this extra member benefit to improve the lives of our members. Through this new benefit, members will be able to receive one free month of counseling to use in 2022. If you need more than a month, you will be able to continue for 15% off your monthly BetterHelp sessions. Through this month you will be able to get unlimited access to messaging with your counselor and weekly phone/ video sessions. The BetterHelp system partners you up with a counselor who meets your needs by taking a short assessment. If your counselor isn’t the right fit for you, then you can switch counselors at any time for no cost and without any questions.

You should be receiving an email from BetterHelp inviting you to access the service, including a unique link for you to create an account.

Below are some FAQs about this new benefit. Feel free to reach out to us for further clarifications at any time. Your information will be kept confidential and safe with our team.

FAQs:

What is BetterHelp?

BetterHelp is the largest online counseling platform worldwide, changing the way people get help with facing life’s challenges by providing convenient, discreet, and affordable access to a licensed therapist. BetterHelp makes professional counseling available anytime, anywhere, through a computer, tablet or smartphone.

Who are the counselors?

Counselors on BetterHelp are licensed, trained, experienced, and accredited psychologists (PhD / PsyD), marriage and family therapists (LMFT), clinical social workers (LCSW / LMSW), or licensed professional counselors (LPC). All of them have a Masters Degree or a Doctorate Degree in their field. They have been qualified and certified by their state’s professional board after successfully completing the necessary education, exams, training and practice. While their experience, expertise and background vary, they all possess at least 3 years and 2,000 hours of hands-on experience.

Will my county Farm Bureau know that I am getting counseling?

No. Farm Bureau will not know which members are receiving counseling and will not have any access to your counseling or other personal data. You can also select an anonymous username and use your personal email when you sign up.

How can I get this benefit?

The biggest thing we will need from our members is their email address so that way BetterHelp can send you your unique link. In order to keep things confidential, we are asking that all members update their information at this time so please call the office to update your address, spouse and dependent information, your email address, and whether or not you would like to enroll in our new auto-renewal membership program.

Additional questions? Contact BetterHelp at: [email protected]

Please expect an email from BetterHelp in your inbox soon. You will have to access your benefit through the link provided in the invite email.

The plan we are on is great. It’s comparable to my previous job's plan, and we are a sole proprietor.

Farm Bureau connections
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Farm Bureau involvement
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
