Franklin County Fair Ambassadors

Introducing the 2024 Franklin County Farm Bureau Fair Ambassadors! Make sure to visit them and extend your greetings. They will be actively engaging on social media, providing updates about the fair throughout the week.

Aubrey Wilson– I have the pleasure of serving as an ambassador for Franklin County Farm Bureau this year. This is an honor to me because my family has a long tradition of belonging to and supporting the mission of Franklin County Farm Bureau, and I plan to continue to be actively involved throughout my life.

Lexi Bashforth– Lexi is  a former member of Carousel Riders 4-H club for nine years. She held various positions and participated in horse shows, goat and dog competitions, horse royalty contests, speaking contests, and musical freestyle at the fair.

Ariana Gill– I am honored to serve as one of the fair ambassadors this year. Currently pursuing a fourth-year animal science major at OSU, my passion for animals was nurtured during my four-year involvement with 4-H, primarily focusing on working with dogs. My active participation in the Franklin County Fair yielded numerous ribbons, notably securing the coveted title of top dog in trial. While canines remain my primary focus, my affinity extends to livestock. I hope to have a job in agriculture.

The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Giving farmers a voice
The plan we are on is great. It’s comparable to my previous job's plan, and we are a sole proprietor.

Bringing the farm back to life
We really appreciate what Farm Bureau has done to get people interested in this line of work and workforce development and getting people interested in this industry.

Finding farm labor
We work terrifically with the Ashtabula County Farm Bureau, hosting at least one to two outreach town hall events every year to educate new farmers and existing farmers on traditional CAUV and woodlands.

CAUV: Past, present and future
Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.

Farm Bureau involvement
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
