The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation is dedicated to supporting and advancing the agricultural community throughout Ohio. As an organization deeply rooted in advocacy, education and service, we strive to empower our members and ensure that agriculture remains a vital and sustainable industry within our state.

Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and driven Organization Director to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, professional service and support to county boards and volunteer leaders, helping them meet the needs of our membership in alignment with the OFBF Strategic Plan. You will play a crucial role in strengthening and expanding the presence and influence of the Ohio Farm Bureau at both the county and state levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Direction: Guide and support County Farm Bureaus to enhance their strength, effectiveness and visibility in achieving Ohio Farm Bureau and county-specific goals.
  • Membership Growth: Drive membership growth through various strategies, including annual volunteer campaigns, direct sales, and fostering strong partnerships.
  • Volunteer Development: Collaborate with county leaders to recruit new volunteers, offering leadership opportunities and training to build and enhance volunteer leadership skills.
  • Community & Partner Engagement: Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including Nationwide, legislators, governmental agencies, agribusinesses, local businesses, and community groups.
  • Financial Oversight: Assist county boards in managing finances, including developing annual budgets aligned with county goals and ensuring annual audits are conducted.
  • Office Management: Oversee the local Farm Bureau office, managing personnel, data, finances, and correspondence to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in basic computer skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to motivate, enthuse, and recognize volunteers
    • Public speaking abilities
    • Knowledge of financial and marketing principles
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Residence in a county within the organization director’s territory
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of work experience in a business environment
  • Knowledge or experience in agriculture
