The Bruce and Carlene Patterson Agricultural Scholarship Fund was established to provide scholarship support to deserving individuals in perpetuity, opening the door to education by removing the financial barriers that may keep someone from pursuing a career in agriculture or related fields and/or obtaining the training needed to grow their skill set within the agricultural workforce.
Unlike many scholarship funds, grants from this fund are awarded based on need and their impact on the individual’s ability to improve their value to the agricultural community.
The number of grants and their amounts is decided semi-annually by the overseeing committee. Application closing dates are March 31 and Oct. 31 each year. Students pursuing an education in agriculture and its related fields and people wishing to improve their knowledge of agricultural and agriculture-related skills are encouraged to apply.
