The social and happy half hour began at 6 p.m. before Lake County Farm Bureau President Todd Demshar welcomed all 50 members and guests to the meeting. The dinner was wood-fired pizza by Fire & Ice.
Board of Trustees were voted on and elected for a two-year term. Those elected were Samantha Bly, Todd Demshar, Anne Poorman, Chip Brown, Charlie Brown, Michael Rought and Michael McDonald. Chip Brown and Ryan Wheeler were elected to serve as delegates for the Ohio Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in 2026 with Brad Bly and Steve Ohmes as the alternates.
Farm Bureau members voted on the policies that guide the county Farm Bureau and established member positions for proposals to Ohio Farm Bureau, which will be voted on at the 2025 Ohio Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in December.
A few code changes were presented and all passed, including a dues increase to $120 effective Dec. 1, 2025.
Samantha Bly announced the 2025 scholarship winners Anya Demshar, represented by her parents; Paige Lucic, represented by her father; and Leigh Ann Milo, represented by a family friend; since classes have already started.
The annual meeting was also a celebration of the work our members, volunteers and staff put into representing our Mission Statement: “Working together for Ohio farmers to advance agriculture and strengthen our communities.”
