Paul Lyons

The Jackson‑Vinton, Pike, and Scioto County Farm Bureaus kicked off their membership drive with a lively and engaging event. Volunteers heard from several fantastic presenters who highlighted the wide range of Farm Bureau membership benefits—reminding everyone that it’s so much more than farming.

A special thank‑you goes out to Paul Lyons, Ohio Farm Bureau vice president of membership, who provided information about Ohio Farm Bureau’s $5,000 reward program and several of the toolkits that are available to members; Sarah Margelowsky, Ohio Farm Bureau Energy Program; Chane Porter, Mark Porter Ford; Angela Howard and Jo Ann Hilderbrand, AirEvac; and Mike Bailey, Ohio Farm Bureau senior vice president of Operations & Partnerships, who shared valuable insights on Ohio Farm Bureau’s Health Care Solutions.

Adding to the fun, a few brave attendees took a spin on the prize wheel for a chance at extra cash and other great giveaways. Appreciation also goes to our Nationwide Select partners: Virgil Hamilton Insurance, Wilber‑Price Insurance Group a Trucordia Business, Gerber Insurance & Financial Services, and Kevin Pfleger Insurance for always showing up with goodies and support.

The momentum is strong, and we’re excited for a successful membership season ahead.

To grow a network and gain perspective and knowledge in the industry through personal and professional development has been invaluable. Every day I learn and grow.

Farm Bureau connections
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Bringing the farm back to life
Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.

Farm Bureau involvement
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

Select Partner Program
So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
