Update on Baku – Gavin 765 kV Transmission Line Project
Ohio Farm Bureau Director of Director, Energy, Utility and Local Government Policy Dale Arnold has prepared this update on the Baku – Gavin 765 kV Transmission Line Project.
Read MoreThe kindergarten students at Southview Elementary School had a hands-on learning experience this week as they built their own bird feeders—and learned how the activity connects to agriculture in a meaningful way.
As students assembled their bird feeders, they talked about where bird seed comes from and how farmers play a role in growing crops like sunflower seeds and corn that feed wildlife. This simple project helped students understand that agriculture isn’t just about food on our plates—it also supports animals, ecosystems, and the environment around us.
By observing birds and learning how to care for them, students explored the idea of stewardship and responsibility for living things. They learned that farmers work with nature every day, helping provide food for people while also protecting habitats for wildlife.
This fun, hands-on activity encouraged curiosity, environmental awareness, and appreciation for agriculture at an early age. It was a wonderful example of how classroom learning can connect to the real world—one bird feeder at a time!
