There is no doubt that every farmer, and even those in the larger agriculture community, is feeling the stress of year-over-year falling crop prices, trade standoffs and a soggy spring. Equally frustrating may be the feeling of being not sure where to turn for answers. Recognizing the need for a one-stop shop that can offer recommendations and solutions for agriculture’s most stressful issues, Ohio State University’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences has put together a website with resources for Ohio farmers.
On the website, Ohio State has convened a task force of experts to address concerns and offer the best science-based recommendations for and solutions to the issues farmers are facing such as weather impacts, tariffs, and low commodity prices.
These resources are not only for farmers, but for the families and friends who support them as well as anyone associated with the ag community or farming industry.
There also is a special section to submit a question.
To grow a network and gain perspective and knowledge in the industry through personal and professional development has been invaluable. Every day I learn and grow.
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.
Farm Bureau is what really got the word out. It’s been one of their goals to get this done.
