We recognize that this year’s volunteer membership campaign is going to be different due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The number and size of gatherings across the state that we would normally hold to organize and prepare volunteers likely will not happen as they normally would.
To assist county membership coordinators and their volunteer teams, we kicked off the volunteer membership campaign last evening with a Virtual Statewide Membership Rally to help prepare them for those important conversations. If you were not able to attend, here is a recording of that meeting to give you a great start to helping your county grow the organization.
If you are not already a part of your county membership team, I encourage you to reach out to your county Farm Bureau regarding how you can get involved. County Farm Bureaus will still have local membership activities such as small local meetings, drive-in events, drive-thru events and membership booths at local businesses.
Even though things will be different in how we prepare and ultimately have those conversations with potential members about the value of membership, the thing that has not changed is the value that Farm Bureau provides our members. Through our grassroots advocacy, member savings programs and local programs and activities, there are more reasons than ever to step up and tell your story of why you are a member.
County Farm Bureaus in Action
Jackson/Vinton County Farm Bureau kicked off its membership campaign. Even though it looks different, the work is still important.
How can you help
- Ask another member to be involved in the campaign.
- Develop your prospect list for both individual members and group members.
- Review the value that Farm Bureau provides to members.
- Reflect on why you are a Farm Bureau member.
- Engage in a conversation about the value of Farm Bureau with family or friends.
- Ask at least two people to join Farm Bureau this week.
- Contact your county Farm Bureau for more information

Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.
