Ashtabula County Farm Bureau recognizes the importance of developing future leaders in the agriculture industry and is committed to investing in their education.
Ashtabula County Farm Bureau would like to honor our 2024 scholarship recipients.
Matthew Mazzaro receives $1,000. Matthew is the son of Charity and Thomas Mazzaro of Williamsfield. He is a 2023 Pymatuning Valley High School graduate and is currently attending The Ohio State University, majoring in agricultural systems management. Matthew is currently a member of Delta Theta Sigma Fraternity, Saddler and Sirloin, Agricultural Systems Management Club, and is involved in the CFAES Living Learning Community. He has also been recognized on the Dean’s List and by the Ohio State University Chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Matthew has volunteered with Ashtabula County Farm Bureau in many capacities including Ag Day, Mental Health Dinner Theater, and annual meetings and intends to be involved in agriculture in many different capacities.
Tyler Britton receives $500. Tyler is the son of Tim and Valerien Britton of New Lyme. He is a 2023 graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School and is currently attending Kent State University, majoring in business management. Tyler has volunteered with events in his community like Ag Day, Polar Bear Plunge, and the county fair. Tyler plays intramural basketball at Kent State and works on his family farm. He intends to return to his family’s farm in Jefferson after completing college to continue the legacy.
Alexa Flack receives $500. Alexa is the daughter of Dana and Evan Flack of Williamsfield. She is a 2024 graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School and plans to attend Kent State University to major in radiology. Alexa has been involved in many extracurricular activities including FFA, where she served as vice president, and Ashtabula County Junior Fairboard. Alexa volunteers for Ag Day, Youth Farm Safety Day, and annual meeting. Alexa intends to continue helping on her family farm and remain involved in agriculture.

The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.
Farm Bureau is what really got the word out. It’s been one of their goals to get this done.
I could not have done it without the resources I have found through Farm Bureau.
Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.
