She also is a three-year member of the National Honor Society, a two-year member of the Student Council, and also served as a class officer for one year.

Kara Boerger, a recent graduate of Fairbanks High School, will be commencing her studies at Clark State College in pursuit of a degree in Agricultural Business this fall. With a State FFA degree achieved through her contributions to the family farm, Kara served as the president of the Fairbanks FFA chapter in the preceding year. She eagerly anticipates embarking on her journey within the agricultural industry.

Julianne Headings, a recent Fairbanks High School graduate, Julianne will study Agriculture Communications at The Ohio State University. She excelled in 4-H, FFA, and Farm Bureau, representing Union County in various projects. Julianne has a strong dairy cattle background and aims to pursue a career in agriculture extension or teaching, while staying connected to her family’s farm.

The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Finding farm labor
We work terrifically with the Ashtabula County Farm Bureau, hosting at least one to two outreach town hall events every year to educate new farmers and existing farmers on traditional CAUV and woodlands.

Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.

Farm Bureau involvement
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
