Cinnamon Apple Tea Ring

Cinnamon Apple Tea Ring

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups finely chopped apples
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • Rich Sweet Dough
  • 1 teaspoon milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 4 cups unsifted flour
  • Frosting
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • vanilla for flavoring

Directions

Divide dough in half to make two rings, and roll out each to a 14×7 size. Brush with melted margarine. Combine chopped apples, sugar, pecans and cinnamon. Divide mixture in half and sprinkle over each piece of dough. Roll up from long side and seal edges. Place seam side down in a circle on a greased baking sheet. Seal ends together firmly. Cut slits 2/3 of the way into rings at 1-inch intervals.

Cover and let rise in warm place that is free from draft until double in bulk–about one hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.

Frost while warm.

Frosting

Combine 1/2 cup confectioners sugar with 1 teaspoon milk. Flavor with a few drops of vanilla.
