road safety

Editor’s Note: Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation has waived the safety education and training requirements for this policy year — July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020 for private employers.

Two remote learning options are now available for Farm Bureau members who need to obtain their safety training requirement as participants in Ohio Farm Bureau’s workers’ compensation group rating program.

Cultivating Safe Farm Operations – This is an interactive online program hosted at Farm Bureau University and presented in partnership with Nationwide and OSU’s Ag Safety program.

Another option is an interactive safety webinar offered at three times. Join Matt Ludwig, risk management consultant with Nationwide Risk Management, as he shares his years of experience and carefully crafted messaging in helping to ensure your family, farm and future are protected.

Presented topics will be covered during each two-hour session:

  • Rural Road Safety
  • Defensive Driving
  • How to Avoid Taking on Other’s Liabilities

Register below (the video will be recorded):

Tuesday March 24 at 9 a.m.

Wednesday March 25 at 1 p.m.

Thursday March 26 at 9 a.m.

To grow a network and gain perspective and knowledge in the industry through personal and professional development has been invaluable. Every day I learn and grow.

Farm Bureau connections
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Farm Bureau involvement
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

Select Partner Program
So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
