canned food

Foodbanks across Central Ohio are seeing a nearly 40% increase in food distributed since the COVID-19 pandemic reached Ohio. This pandemic has brought many first-time families to visit foodbanks, and as the COVID-19 pandemic lingers, the need for foodbank donations is greater than ever.

You know well that farmers care that all people in their community have access to safe and nutritious food. In lieu of this year’s Farmers CARE Breakfast, Marion County Farm Bureau is asking its members to make a donation to the local foodbanks in Marion County. All donations collected will be evenly distributed to eight Marion County foodbanks. The Marion County Farm Bureau made a donation in December 2020 and will match the donations from members up to $1000.

To make a donation, please send a check to Marion County Farm Bureau at 1495 W. Longview Ave., Suite 203, Mansfield, OH 44906. In the memo line, please put food bank donation. Donations will be collected through June 1.

While we are disappointed to cancel the Farmers CARE Breakfast another year, we are grateful to be able to impact our communities. Thank you for ensuring all of our neighbors have food on their table.

If you have any questions, please contact the Marion County Farm Bureau at 419-747-7488 or [email protected].

To grow a network and gain perspective and knowledge in the industry through personal and professional development has been invaluable. Every day I learn and grow.

Farm Bureau connections
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Bringing the farm back to life
Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.

Farm Bureau involvement
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

Select Partner Program
So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
