Hocking County Ag Days is an annual family-friendly event that celebrates agriculture and community. Ag Days will take place May 15-16, 2021 at the Hocking County Fairgrounds in Logan. Attendees will experience agriculture, history and the environment through interactive demonstrations, livestock display, antique tractor show, flea market, vendors, music, food and fun.
A pancake and sausage breakfast starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 15. Ag Days festivities begin at 9 a.m. when the Boy Scouts perform the opening ceremony. At 9:30 the Hocking County Farm Bureau will recognize military service members and veterans during a special observance. The Farm Bureau invites all former and current military members to attend and enjoy a free breakfast before or after the ceremony.
At 10 a.m. a tractor benefit drive starts at the fairgrounds and proceeds through downtown Logan. Antique tractors, hit n’ miss engines and equipment will be on display throughout the weekend.
“Ag Days has something for everyone to enjoy,” said Ivory Harlow, Hocking County Farm Bureau organization director. Kids can participate in a tractor pull, scavenger hunt and playful activities in the children’s area. Adults will enjoy live Bluegrass and Gospel music and education sessions with conservation and equipment experts. There will be a flea market and vendor’s area with food and goods for sale.”
“Ag Days brings together the community and connects us in a meaningful way. Local businesses sponsor the event, advertise in the Ag Days book and donate funds. Hocking County organizations provide education and activities. Volunteers put in long hours of hard work. Ag Days is special because the community comes together to make it happen,” said Betty Shaw, chair of the Ag Days Committee. Community support allows Hocking County Farm Bureau to offer the event free to the public, so that all families are able to take part.
