Read MoreThe Southern Ohio Ag Showcase kicked off its inaugural year, for what looks to be a yearly event for the agricultural community.
On Feb. 8, the Southern Ohio Ag Showcase welcomed farmers, students, and agricultural professionals from Adams, Brown, Clermont and Highland counties for a morning filled with education, networking, and hands-on demonstrations. Hosted at the Brown County Fairgrounds, the event provided a unique opportunity to explore the latest in ag technology, industry trends, and sustainable farming practices—all while enjoying breakfast with fellow attendees.
We were especially thankful for our group members who were present at the event: AgPro, First State Bank, Atomic Credit Union, and Baxla Tractor. Their continued support and commitment to the local agricultural community make events like this possible.
Additional businesses and organizations, included: ABS Breeding, Bethel Feed & Supply, Central Farm Supply of Kentucky, Cherry Fork Farm Supply, Farm Service Agency, Kalmbach Feeds, Merchants National Bank, Behlen, Wolfer Farms Feed and Supplies, Fussnecker & Sons Tractor Sales, Midwest Air, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Purina Mills, Brown County Soil and Water Conservation District, Tarter Farm and Ranch, UPI, Weaver Livestock Show Supplies. Attendees had the chance to engage with vendors, discuss farming solutions, and explore emerging trends in the industry.
One of the highlights of the day was a month-old miniature Highland calf, shared by Rocking BG Cattle Company. The adorable calf brought smiles to attendees of all ages, making it a favorite attraction of the event.
The event also featured educational sessions with speakers covering key agricultural topics. Elizabeth Hawkins from OSU Extension presented “Technology & Trends in Today’s Agricultural Industry.” Brett Barton with Adams County SWCD reviewed “Grazing Management 101” with attendees. Lastly, Midwest Air, a featured exhibitor, provided insights into cutting-edge drone services and their applications in modern agriculture.
Farm Bureau board trustees were present throughout the morning to answer questions, facilitate discussions, and ensure attendees gained valuable knowledge and connections. A special thank you goes out to Eastern Brown FFA, Ripley FFA, and Fayetteville FFA for their hard work in making the event a success.
