Brown County Farm Bureau announces 2026 scholarship opportunities

Scholarship selection will be based on agricultural interests, scholastic achievement, financial need and Farm Bureau participation.

    Brown County Scholarship

Brown County Farm Bureau is offering up to four $500 scholarships to 2026 Brown County, Ohio high school graduates. Additionally, a $500 scholarship will also be awarded to a student currently enrolled in a two- or four-year college or technical school with a major in agriculture. Scholarship selection will be based on agricultural interests, scholastic achievement, financial need and Farm Bureau participation.

It is not necessary that the applicant have a farm background or plan to major in agriculture. As long as the parents/guardians of the student are members of the Brown County Farm Bureau, the student is eligible.

Applications are available online and can be obtained through local high schools’ guidance counselors offices. To obtain a scholarship, applicants must send a completed application, a copy of their high school transcript and a wallet-size photo to the Brown County Farm Bureau, PO Box 288, Georgetown, OH 45121 or submit to [email protected]. All applications must be received by 4 p.m. on March 31, 2026.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Brown County Farm Bureau office at 937-378-2212.  Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

    New and beginning farmers
My first recommendation in your journey is to start out with a local farming friend or mentor along with joining an organization like Ohio Farm Bureau.

    Growing Tomorrow Grant
We’re just so thankful for the Farm Bureau and the foundation for helping put this together. And of course, the Boyert family for the vision they had with this grant. It’s jumping us forward 10 years. It’s unbelievable.

    Giving farmers a voice
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

    Select Partner Program
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

    Advocacy
So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
