Jefferson County Farm Bureau Celebrates 80th Birthday with Fun, Family-Friendly Activities at the Jefferson County Fair

To mark eight decades of serving our farm families, Jefferson County Farm Bureau is hosting a week full of family-friendly activities at the Jefferson County Fair. Join us Aug. 18 – Aug. 23. (1505 Friendship Park Road Smithfield, OH 43948)

Located at the north end of the Commercial Building at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, the Farm Bureau display will be open daily from 2 to 8 p.m. Admission to the exhibit area is packed with free interactive learning experiences, daily snacks, handouts, games and prizes.

Highlights of the week include:

  • Interactive Play Areas: Play with John Deere tractors and Henry Ford-designed farm trucks on a farm-themed rug.
  • Hands-On Learning & Crafts: Conduct science experiments with apples, learn to count tree rings, and create custom soybean-filled stress balls.
  • Photo Opportunities & Games: Snap a photo using the cow head cutout, try your hand at tossing cow patties, and enjoy agricultural coloring sheets and games.
  • Educational Displays: Explore a curated collection of children’s farm books and a timeline detailing the rich history of agriculture.
  • Special Finale: A drone demonstration will take place on Sunday to showcase modern agricultural technology.

We are thrilled to celebrate 80 years of agricultural heritage with our local community. We invite everyone to stop by. Join in the fun and help us celebrate this milestone.
