Annually the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation recognizes a volunteer leader in each county for his or her service and dedication to the organization. County Boards of Trustees are asked to select a person that has given time and effort to the organization to further the mission of Farm Bureau “Working together for Ohio farmers to advance agriculture and strengthen our communities.”
Guernsey County Farm Bureau has selected Anna Hodges, Cambridge, who will be recognized as one of the 86 county volunteers at the Ohio Farm Bureau annual meeting held in Columbus, Dec. 4-5.
Hodges serves on the Guernsey County Farm Bureau Board of Trustees and is the membership chairperson. She and her husband, Bruce, have been married for 32 years. In 2002, they purchased property next to the family farm and in 2007, they moved their family to the farm to help with the beef operation. They look forward to increasing their beef production and improving their forest stands. Anna is happy their four children are woven into the fabric of the family farm and its history. In her spare time, Anna is a freelance artist.

The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.
Farm Bureau is what really got the word out. It’s been one of their goals to get this done.
I could not have done it without the resources I have found through Farm Bureau.
Because we are younger farmers just starting out, Farm Bureau has a lot of good opportunities and resources to help us grow in the future.
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.
