Read MoreOver 50 urban farmers attending the Urban Farmer Network Event heard from three start up urban farm owners who shared their challenges and successes and offered advice to help others interested in farming on a smaller scale.
“This was a great way to connect and learn from fellow Cleveland farmers”, said Debbie Sillett, who helps manage Stearns Homestead Farmers Market in Parma. The event, hosted by the Ohio State University Extension – Cuyahoga, provided attendees time to visit with other urban farmers to help their farm business succeed.
The evening ended with those who shared a need, want, offer of assistance or opportunity. School gardens, free manure, compost, irrigation, beekeeping classes and youth opportunities were presented. Information on all of these offers and other educational resources are available from OSU Extension-Cuyahoga.
Cuyahoga County Farm Bureau sponsored the Urban Farmer Network event held Jan. 15, 2020.
