Read MoreMick Haehn is the owner and operator of Haehn Florist and Greenhouses in Wapakoneta, Ohio. A long-time Auglaize County Farm Bureau member, Haehn Florist and Greenhouses provides a variety of goods and services, from floral arrangements, to tree trimming and more. The business is family owned and operated and has been a fixture in Auglaize County since 1957, when Mick’s parents started the business.
“The Farm Bureau [membership] has been a great advantage to our business,” Mick said, citing savings through Ohio Farm Bureau’s Workers’ Compensation group rating program and annual safety workshops as the most beneficial to his small business. “Small businesses make up the backbone of the country, and any savings we can get, we love to take advantage.”
It’s been a busy Spring for Haehn Florist and Greenhouses and they’re working hard to keep up with exceptional demand. Mick attributes the increased business to people being at home during quarantine and wanting to spruce up their landscaping or start a garden. As an owner/operator, Mick’s day-to-day tasks vary, but he says, “I do what I love… If you love what you do, it’s not work, it’s a passion.”
