The Central Ohio Farm Bureaus invite you to join them for the 2023 Women in Ag Brunch March 4 at the Nationwide Hotel and Conference Center in Lewis Center! This annual event recognizes achievements in agriculture and the contributions of women to our local farm community.

The keynote speaker will be Stacie Anderson, Ohio Farm Bureau Young Ag Professional and winner of the 2023 American Farm Bureau Excellence in Agriculture competition. The Excellence in Agriculture Award spotlights young Farm Bureau members who are agricultural enthusiasts but have not earned a majority of their income from an owned production agriculture enterprise in the past three years. Competitors are evaluated on their understanding of agricultural issues, leadership experiences and achievement, and their ability to communicate their agricultural story.

Anderson grew up on her family’s farm raising corn, soybeans, wheat, and specialty crops, while participating in 4-H and FFA. She is a graduate of Ohio State University where she earned her undergraduate degree in agribusiness and applied economics and a master’s degree in agricultural communications. She and her husband, Brian, grow corn, soybeans and wheat, as well as raise poultry for direct-to-consumer products and a small herd of beef cattle. Off the farm, Anderson is the agronomy sales manager for Legacy Farmers Cooperative, where she manages sales of all crop nutrients, chemicals, seeds, and precision products. She is the Ohio winner of the Excellence in Agriculture contest for 2022.

We will be honoring Kelly Harsh of Delaware County. Kelly is a kind person who jumps in to help with Farm Bureau functions all year long. She has assisted with the Farm Bureau farm fun tent at the Delaware County Fair, Benefit in the Barn and many other functions and meetings. Kelly and her family hosted Benefit in the Barn in 2022. Kelly is an all around community minded person and enjoys most aspects of agriculture. She always has a positive attitude and is a strong advocate for agriculture. Kelly is currently on the board for the National Corn Growers Association and also the chair of the Ohio Corn and Wheat Growers Association.

Event details

Brunch will be served featuring a mimosa bar. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with the welcome and program starting at 11 a.m.
