Why Farm Bureau?
Terry and Susan Diefenbacher
Terry and Susan Diefenbacher

I have been a Farm Bureau member in Hamilton County, Ohio for over 45 years. Agriculture is the backbone of our country. We feed America and much of the world at a cost much lower than most countries while providing a huge variety of grains, fresh fruits, vegetables, beef, poultry and pork.

During the many years of my membership, I have witnessed the strength of Farm Bureau’s voice legislatively from county to national issues. Not only are many of the agriculture-related issues important to our politicians, but they certainly understand the power of numbers within the membership and the potential votes that our membership wields during local, state, and national elections.

Farm Bureau is agriculture’s first line of defense when uneducated politicians bring hardships to family farms. Farm Bureau is there to fight for family farms and helps to keep us up-to-date with important issues that effect our business’s bottom line.

I believe it is about the BIG picture and each individual member’s role in keeping agriculture healthy and prosperous allowing us to become the leaders in agriculture genetics, environmental stewardship, and technology for the sake of the U.S.A.

Thank you Farm Bureau.

My first recommendation in your journey is to start out with a local farming friend or mentor along with joining an organization like Ohio Farm Bureau.

New and beginning farmers
We’re just so thankful for the Farm Bureau and the foundation for helping put this together. And of course, the Boyert family for the vision they had with this grant. It’s jumping us forward 10 years. It’s unbelievable.

Bringing the farm back to life
It wasn’t until I joined the Wilmington College Collegiate Farm Bureau that I truly saw how my passion could translate into leadership, advocacy and a career.

Youth pathways in Farm Bureau
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Giving farmers a voice
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
