Sydney Saunders

Sydney Sanders has been named the recipient of the 2023 Frank B. Sollars Memorial Farm Bureau Scholarship sponsored by the Sollars Family of Fayette County. Sydney will receive her scholarship at the 2023 Fayette County Annual Meeting.

Sydney is the daughter of Dave and Mindy Sanders and is a 2023 Fairfield Local High School graduate. She will be attending Lake Land College on a scholarship as a livestock judging team member with plans to transfer to a senior college her junior year to pursue a degree in animal science. Throughout high school, Sanders was very active, as she was chapter FFA president, a senior captain on the Lady Lions varsity softball team, and the vice president of the National Honor Society. Sanders is currently the vice president of the Ohio Junior Angus Association and president of her 4-H club.

“To me, agriculture is a way of life. Through my family’s cow herd, 4-H and FFA, this industry has developed me into the young professional I am today. It has taught me the meaning of hard work and how to play a valuable role in my community. I have always considered the agriculture community to be home and I have no doubt that it will continue to provide me with opportunities to grow. Agriculture is essential and I am proud to be a part of the industry that fuels the world,” Sanders said.
