On March 5, 2025, the Brown County Farm Bureau held its annual Policy Development Meeting, bringing together 15 attendees to discuss key agricultural and rural issues impacting the community. Topics included support for the farm bill, conservation efforts, and the promotion of land preservation. The county auditor voiced the need to revamp the CAUV program to align with its original intent, and much discussion was had around this topic. Other concerns included thinning the deer herd, protecting small farmers, and opposing foreign land ownership. The meeting provided an opportunity for members, community leaders and local farmers to voice concerns and help shape policy recommendations.
