Muskingum County Farm Bureau and Perry County Farm Bureau are hosting a Livestock Training in partnership with Ohio State University Extension . This training is prioritized for first responders in Muskingum and Perry counties and will open to surrounding counties as space allows. The training will be held at LinJus Farms in Duncan Falls Feb. 21, 2026 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. This is a FREE training for first responders. Training includes a resource handbook for your department, classroom sessions, hands-on learning, coffee and doughnuts, and a catered lunch.
Lecture: Livestock Behavior and Handling, Biosecurity, Design of Livestock Trailers, Euthanasia, Mortality Management, Responding to the Scene, Importance of Debriefing
Hands-On Learning/Demonstration: Incident Tabletop Demo, Livestock Trailer Walk Through, Beef Cattle Handling.

CANCELLATION OR POSTPONEMENT:
Cancellation or postponement of the event will be made if there is a Level 2 Snow Emergency the morning of the event within Muskingum County, or where the speakers are traveling from. Snow date will be Feb. 28, 2026.
