2026 Ashtabula County Ag Day seeking volunteers

    March 23, 2026

Ashtabula County Ag Day seeking volunteers

Ashtabula Ag Day, sponsored by Ashtabula County Farm Bureau, Ashtabula County OSU Extension, and Ashtabula SWCD is the county’s youth agricultural education event where first graders come to the Ashtabula County Fairgrounds to experience agriculture through hands-on and interactive stations. Activities range from butter making, learning about soil, and planting tomatoes, to learning more about farm animals and learning about the origins of the food and fiber people need.

We can’t wait to see our 1000+ first graders in Ashtabula County attending Ag Day 2026 on Friday, May 8, 2026.

Volunteers are the key to success

We are looking for volunteers with a passion for agriculture and our youth to help us. This event has an annual attendance of nearly 1,000 first graders, and 250+ volunteers are needed. Please register as soon as possible. This is a truly amazing and impactful experience and we would love to have you!  The Ag Day program May 8, 2026 is NOT open to the public. In order to volunteer, you MUST be registered.

If you can’t spare your time, but would like to help us financially support the program, you can donate today.

For more information contact the Farm Bureau office at 440.426.2195 or Amanda Barnum at 440.576.9008.

OFBF Mission: Working together for Ohio farmers to advance agriculture and strengthen our communities.

    New and beginning farmers
My first recommendation in your journey is to start out with a local farming friend or mentor along with joining an organization like Ohio Farm Bureau.

    Growing Tomorrow Grant
We’re just so thankful for the Farm Bureau and the foundation for helping put this together. And of course, the Boyert family for the vision they had with this grant. It’s jumping us forward 10 years. It’s unbelievable.

    Youth pathways in Farm Bureau
It wasn’t until I joined the Wilmington College Collegiate Farm Bureau that I truly saw how my passion could translate into leadership, advocacy and a career.

    Giving farmers a voice
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

    Select Partner Program
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

    Advocacy
So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
