Farm Bureau sponsors Crawford County Fair events

What an incredible week it was at the 2026 Crawford County Fair! The Crawford County Farm Bureau wants to extend a massive thank you to all the coordinators, families, visitors, and especially the hard-working Junior Fair exhibitors who made this year’s fair an unforgettable success. From the livestock barns to the show arena, the dedication of our agricultural community was on full display.

We were thrilled to see such a fantastic turnout for all of our events, starting with the fair week itself from July 20 to 25, and wrapping up with the educational Crawford County Carcass Show at Link’s Country Meats July 29, where market livestock projects were expertly evaluated.

Our community stepped up in a big way to support our youth through our sponsored stall sign program. Exhibitors proudly displayed their signs all across the fairgrounds, unlocking exclusive project add-on money for our Farm Bureau family exhibitors. There were a total of 64 stall signs displayed! We were also incredibly honored to provide the Reserve Champion Livestock award chairs to reward the stellar efforts of the youth showing everything from beef, dairy, and feeder cattle to goats, hogs, lambs, poultry, rabbits and alpacas.

The stands were absolutely packed and the school spirit was loud for our first-ever Celebrity Showmanship July 22. Local school districts went head-to-head as community celebrities tested their livestock skills, and we want to give a massive congratulations to Wynford’s Team Royals, featuring Tessa Martin and Ryan Lutz, who completely swept the competition by taking home both the Overall Celebrity Showmanship title and the People’s Choice Award. Colonel Crawford’s Team Eagles followed in a close second, with Buckeye Central’s Team Bucks taking third, Crestline’s Team Bulldogs placing fourth, and Team Tigers and Bucyrus’s Team Redmen rounding out the competitive field.

Whether you wore your school colors to the arena, hung up a stall sign, or cheered from the stands, thank you for making 2026 a milestone year, and we cannot wait to see you all back in the rings next summer!

My first recommendation in your journey is to start out with a local farming friend or mentor along with joining an organization like Ohio Farm Bureau.

We’re just so thankful for the Farm Bureau and the foundation for helping put this together. And of course, the Boyert family for the vision they had with this grant. It’s jumping us forward 10 years. It’s unbelievable.

It wasn’t until I joined the Wilmington College Collegiate Farm Bureau that I truly saw how my passion could translate into leadership, advocacy and a career.

The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
