Harvest season is one of the busiest and most demanding times of year for our local farm families. Long hours in the fields, unpredictable weather, equipment challenges, and the pressure to get crops harvested can make finding time for even the simplest things a challenge.
And harvest doesn’t just happen in the fields.
Behind every busy harvest are spouses, parents, children, and other family members keeping things running at home, juggling schedules, running errands, and making sure everyone has something to eat.
Planning, preparing, packing, and delivering field-friendly meals can feel like a full-time job of its own!
This Friday, Farm Bureau wants to give one local farm family a little break!
Through our Harvest Kindness initiative, we’re treating one nominated local farm family or harvest crew to lunch for up to 10 people on Friday, Oct. 30, prepared by fellow Farm Bureau Group Member Sirna’s Farm Fresh Kitchen/Pizzeria.
As an added thank-you, if the selected farm is a Farm Bureau member, they’ll also receive a sweet treat for dessert, courtesy of Patterson Fruit Farms, another one of our group members.
No planning. No cooking. No packing lunches. Just a good meal and one less thing to worry about during harvest.
We want to hear about them!
Nominate a local farm family or harvest crew that has been working long hours, supporting one another through a challenging harvest, or simply deserves a little appreciation for all they do.
Nomination Deadline: Thursday, October 29, at 5 p.m.
Lunch Provided: Friday, October 30
Meal: Lunch for up to 10 people
Help us remind our farmers and the families who support them that their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.
