Read MoreLake County Farm Bureau hosted a successful Farm Power Days event June 3 at Working Traditions Farm in Painesville. Approximately 150 were in attendance at the third annual gathering to experience free family friendly activities, including pony rides, horse-drawn wagon rides, a petting zoo, prizes and free lunch.
“The event pulls in a large group of people from the community who have no agricultural background,” said Lake County Organization Director Mandy Orahood. “They love the family and farm atmosphere.”
Farm Power Days provides a perfect setting to introduce Farm Bureau to potential members and to build new relationships in the community. Guests have the opportunity to interact with and ask questions of farmers and members who have a passion for the organization.
An added member benefit this year included a members-only after party and barbecue. Those who signed up for a membership at Farm Power Days were welcomed to stay for the party which featured food from J & J Catering, the exclusive caterer for Lake Metroparks Farmpark.
Nearly 50 were in attendance for the private after party, including three new members and several Young Ag Professionals. The night ended with a bonfire, s’mores and games.
