Cy Prettyman of New Bloomington was re-elected treasurer of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation on Dec. 8 during the group’s 99th annual meeting. This is his second full term as treasurer, the third-highest elected office in the state’s largest general farm organization. Prettyman was elected to the board of trustees in 2012 and represents members in his district that encompasses Crawford, Marion, Morrow and Richland counties.
Prettyman raises corn, soybeans and beef cattle with his family and is a sales specialist with Purina Animal Nutrition. A 19-year member of Marion County Farm Bureau, Prettyman has served as its president and has been active with local and state Pork Producers Councils and the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association. He is a member of the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board.
He has a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Ohio State University. He and his wife, Julie, have a daughter and son. They attend Trinity Evangelical UMC in Upper Sandusky.
Ohio Farm Bureau’s mission is working together for Ohio farmers to advance agriculture and strengthen the state’s communities.
