Wyatt Bates of Wheelersburg has been re-elected trustee of Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, the state’s largest general farm organization. His re-election took place Dec. 7 during Ohio Farm Bureau’s 100th annual meeting. He will continue to serve as District 21 trustee, representing the interests of Farm Bureau members from Jackson, Pike, Scioto and Vinton counties.
Bates is a 15-year member of Scioto County Farm Bureau, having served as its president, treasurer and policy development chairman, as well as being involved in membership and many other activities. He is a real estate agent, and he and his wife, Patricia, are beekeepers and enjoy their 20 acres.
Bates received an associate’s degree from Shawnee State University. He serves as president of the Greater Portsmouth Board of Realtors and is a member of the Knights of Columbus in St. Peter Parish. He has three grown children.
