Licking County Soil and Water Conservation District has recently been certified as a local sponsor for the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Local Agricultural Easement Purchase Program (LAEPP). The district has received an initial allocation of $337,150 for the 2019 program year.
Licking County SWCD will use a pre-application process and those applications are due to the SWCD Office by Feb. 4, 2019.
Since 2009, Licking County Soil and Water’s Farmland Preservation Program has brought $4.75 million in Clean Ohio and federal funds to Licking County. They hold 18 agricultural easements totaling 2,900 acres.
