Ohio Farm Bureau is partnering with America 250-Ohio to bring the The Ohio Ag-Venture Guide to life this fall, a key initiative that aims to celebrate Ohio agriculture during the America 250 celebration this year.

A self-guided driving tour, the The Ohio Ag-Venture Guide will help promote agritourism sites around the state throughout September and October 2026.

The online application period is open now, until June 30, for those who would like to apply to be featured on the America 250-Ohio agventure guide.

Chosen participants will be announced at the Ohio State Fair in August.

Form submissions are evaluated based on their ability to meet the following expectations:

  • Accessibility: Is the site open to walk-in visitors during regular hours? Is there parking? Is the schedule posted? If you are relying on tours, they must be open to the public and posted on the website with an easy booking process.
  • Relevancy: Does the site directly relate to agritourism? Does it help Ohioans celebrate or partake in agricultural heritage or production?
  • Visitor Experience: Will visitors find an educational, fun, and/or engaging experience when stopping by the site? The scope of this project is to create a trail where visitors to and through Ohio can stop and spend an hour or two, learning more about the many agritourism experiences our state has to offer.

The Ohio Ag-Venture Guide is separate from America 250-Ohio’s Trails and Tales initiative. The Ohio Ag-Venture Guide will encourage travel to agritourism sites throughout the state.

My first recommendation in your journey is to start out with a local farming friend or mentor along with joining an organization like Ohio Farm Bureau.

New and beginning farmers
We’re just so thankful for the Farm Bureau and the foundation for helping put this together. And of course, the Boyert family for the vision they had with this grant. It’s jumping us forward 10 years. It’s unbelievable.

It wasn’t until I joined the Wilmington College Collegiate Farm Bureau that I truly saw how my passion could translate into leadership, advocacy and a career.

Youth pathways in Farm Bureau
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Giving farmers a voice
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
