Read MoreIn mid-January Gov. Mike DeWine signed House Bill 2, which gives employers and individuals looking for additional job training state cost-sharing assistance.
“Workforce development is a priority issue for Ohio Farm Bureau. We support enhanced research, development and programming to meet the workforce development needs in Ohio agriculture,” said Jenna Beadle, director of state policy, during proponent testimony for the bill.
The legislation has two main components:
• Creates the TechCred Program for eligible employers to get cost-sharing from the state to provide training to potential employees through a microcredential (industry recognized credential or certificate)
• Creates the Individual Microcredential Assistance Program for individuals to receive cost-sharing from the state to pursue training on their own.
