In an effort to address the surging community food bank need due to the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on the economy, Farm Bureaus in Carroll, Holmes, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit and Wayne counties collaborated in a Pork to Pantry project which resulted in 5,160 pounds of ground pork being donated to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.

Additional sponsors included Farm Credit Mid-America, Ohio Pork Council’s Pork Power Program, Deerfield Ag Services, Trent Insurance Group, Dennis Taylor Agency, Dustin Burgess Insurance Group and Kim Davis Agency. The pork was delivered Aug. 5 and will be distributed through the food bank system.
