2025 Union County Farm Bureau Scholarship recipients

Union County Farm Bureau would like to congratulate our 2025 scholarship recipients.

Jack Nicol is a student at Fairbanks High School who will be continuing his education at Michigan State University in the fall to major in agribusiness.

Kadence Kise is a student at Fairbanks High School with a strong passion for animal care and community involvement. She is actively engaged in FFA and participates in a variety of community service initiatives. Kise plans to attend the University of Findlay, where she will pursue a degree in pre-veterinary medicine as she works toward her goal of becoming a veterinarian.

Hannah Sullivan was born and raised on her family farm near Milford Center, Ohio. For the past 16 years, she has raised sheep for 4-H and FFA members, developing a strong foundation in agriculture and animal care. She is a former vice president of the Fairbanks FFA Chapter, a National Honor Society member, and a 12-year member of the Darby Clovers 4-H Club. Sullivan has worked as a veterinary assistant at Wingfield Animal Clinic for the last four years. She plans to pursue her goal of becoming a nurse anesthetist by attending Wright State University.

My first recommendation in your journey is to start out with a local farming friend or mentor along with joining an organization like Ohio Farm Bureau.

New and beginning farmers
We’re just so thankful for the Farm Bureau and the foundation for helping put this together. And of course, the Boyert family for the vision they had with this grant. It’s jumping us forward 10 years. It’s unbelievable.

It wasn’t until I joined the Wilmington College Collegiate Farm Bureau that I truly saw how my passion could translate into leadership, advocacy and a career.

Youth pathways in Farm Bureau
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Giving farmers a voice
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

Select Partner Program
So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
