Each year, local farmers are welcome to donate bushels from their harvest at the Troy Elevator. The monetary amount of bushels donated is given to Miami County food pantries at the end of the harvest season. This program was started in 2008, and local farmers of Miami County have generously given over $50,000 to Miami County food pantries since then.
Miami County Farm Bureau Organization Director Taylor Watkins, said, “This year has been our largest year yet, and we have almost tripled donations from last year with about $11,000 raised! We are thankful to have such generous farmers in Miami County and supportive partners like the Miami County Foundation. Thank you to everyone who has given.”
