Growing our Generation: Golden Owl Award
March is National Agriculture Month and in today’s world, agricultural education and awareness is needed more than ever. Hear from two of Ohio’s top ag educators.
Read MoreEach year, for your benefit, OFBF sponsors educational programs dealing with safety in the agriculture workplace. These programs are important for all Farm Bureau members and workers compensation employers in the program – large and small.
The Ohio Farm Bureau Workers Compensation Group Rating Program is estimated to save members millions of dollars this year alone in workers compensation premiums. Members enrolled in Ohio Farm Bureau’s Workers’ Compensation Group Rating program are required to complete training (minimum two hours) each year to be done by June 30.
One very important aspect of reducing Workers’ Compensation premiums, and to protect our Farm Bureau members, is to reduce the number of claims/accidents we have each year with every member doing their part to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Online options for workers’ compensation group rating program safety training can be found:
1. Ohio Safety Congress & Expo (Virtual sessions held April 16-18)
2. There are three stand-alone Farm Bureau videos on YouTube:
3. Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation offer a variety of training courses in multiple formats to help you find the information you need in a format that fits your schedule. They offer in-person training, virtual training classes, online courses, webinars, and blended learning. To get started, you must create a separate BWC Learning Center login to register for a class. You can also access transcripts, enrollments, and print certificates. E-course: These on-demand, self-directed training modules are done on the BWC Learning Center website. They usually range from 30 minutes to approximately two hours. You can see the current list of topics here.
4. And there are also options provided through Sedgwick. If you are a current program participant, watch for monthly emails with online and in-person options.
The Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation year runs July 1 to June 30. We do not have any local in-person events scheduled at this time.
If you have any questions, or need assistance, please contact the county Farm Bureau office at 419-747-7488 or email eeisenhauer@ofbf.org. Please let us know when the 2-hour training has been finished and which option(s) were used.
