Jackson‑Vinton Farm Bureau hosts successful membership phone‑a‑thon
Volunteers reached out to individuals whose memberships had lapsed, were coming due for renewal, or who might be interested in joining for the first time.
Read MoreEach year, The Telegram newspaper helps shine a spotlight on the Jackson-Vinton Farm Bureau’s Hog Wild Contest by sponsoring a special article called the Piggy Pages. This fun feature includes photos of all 40 decorated hogs, along with the names of the businesses and their uniquely named pigs.
The Hog Wild Contest is more than just fun—it’s a scholarship fundraiser supporting local students. Participating businesses purchase a ceramic piggy bank, decorate it, and collect funds in hopes of taking home one of the contest titles. While everyone is vying for the coveted “Top Hog” award, other honors like Most Creative/Artistic, Most Facebook Likes, and People’s Choice add even more excitement.
We are so grateful to all of the businesses that joined in this year’s contest and made it such a success. A very special thank you goes out to The Telegram News for sponsoring the Piggy Pages and helping us share this community tradition with readers across the area.
