Group Member Spotlight

The Northeast Counties Farm Bureau serving Cuyahoga, Erie, Huron, and Lorain counties is excited to highlight one of our valued business members that plays an important role in supporting local agriculture and strengthening our rural communities. These spotlights are our way of recognizing the businesses that invest in Farm Bureau through Group Memberships and help make a positive impact for agriculture across our communities.

This week’s Business Member Spotlight is…….

Located in Lorain County, Wellington Implement began in 1929 just before the Great Depression. Willard and Eva Young moved from Ashland to Wellington with their three children. Wellington Implement provides equipment, parts, service and support to farmers, rural landowners, commercial customers, municipalities, and homeowners throughout the north-central region of Ohio. Its mission is to help customers succeed by providing quality equipment backed by knowledgeable employees and exceptional customer service. Wellington Implement serves a wide variety of customers who rely on dependable equipment to maintain their properties and businesses.

Wellington Implement is an authorized dealer for industry-leading equipment brands, including Case IH, offering a full range of agricultural equipment, compact tractors, lawn and garden equipment, utility vehicles, commercial mowing equipment, and related products. The team is committed to helping customers find the right equipment solutions and supporting them long after the sale.

In addition to equipment sales, Wellington Implement provides:

  • Parts support for agricultural and outdoor equipment

  • Financing assistance
  • Equipment rentals

New in 2026, Wellington Implement is offering mobile mower service, allowing customers to have their riding mower or zero turn serviced at their location in around an hour. All the work will be performed inside their especially designed box truck.

New and beginning farmers
My first recommendation in your journey is to start out with a local farming friend or mentor along with joining an organization like Ohio Farm Bureau.

Growing Tomorrow Grant
We’re just so thankful for the Farm Bureau and the foundation for helping put this together. And of course, the Boyert family for the vision they had with this grant. It’s jumping us forward 10 years. It’s unbelievable.

Giving farmers a voice
The issue of property taxation remains as one of the biggest challenges our members face today. Ensuring agricultural property is valued for its agricultural potential and not development is critical to the continued success of Ohio agriculture.

Select Partner Program
Through the Select Partner program, we became educated in farm insurance and weren't just selling policies. It became more and more clear why farmers need an advocate like Ohio Farm Bureau.

Advocacy
So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
